Oversees the agenda and work of the entire area of Social Responsibility. Meetings include prayer, education, discernment, and decision-making.
C.L.O.U.T.
Citizens Louisville Organized and United Together is a coalition of downtown churches and civic groups working together on needs of inner city residents. Epiphany is a supporter of CLOUT and joins in many advocacy projects.
Environmental concerns subcommittee
Responds to the environmental crises that threaten the planet. Multi-focused with special emphasis on lifestyle chioces, community education and political action. Meets monthly on first Mondays.

Undoing Racism
This subcommittee is works to improve race relations within and outside the Church of Epiphany by educating themselves and others on issues of race, raising awareness of racial injustices within our community and to seek to eliminate these racial injustices. The group has guest speakers, and read and discuss relevant books and articles. This group meets on the second Wednesday of the month. Contact Greg Tichenor through the parish office at 502-245-9733.
Women's concerns subcommittee
Addresses the special concerns of women in the church and society. The group offers an occasion to discuss the particular obstacles to women, offers support and direction, and seeks to employ creative solutions. Meets monthly.

Latino concerns subcommittee
Newly formed group attempting to address needs of Hispanic migrant farm community in the Achdiocese. Meets monthly.

Hunger and poverty subcommittee
Organizes and empowers the parish's outreach to the poor in the local, national and international community. Efforts include "hands-on" direct action, legistative advocacy, and parish education. Meets on Sunday between the litergies at a local restaurant / deli.

Legislative Network
An archdiocesan program that commits itself to writing letters to politicians as a way of influencing political decision-making about issues of concern to the Christian American. Several times each year, participants are sent background information about issues they are interested in.
Eastern Area Community Ministries
A combined effort by East End churches to serve area needs by combining talent and resources. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks.
- Juvenile Court Diversion Program: Provides counseling and community service hours to area youth charged with misdemeanors. Advisory group members needed.

Food and clothing drives
A variety of appeals are made in the community on behalf of those in need. Quarterly food drives stock Neighborhood Visitor Program's pantry. Clothing drives are held twice a year. Volunteers needed.
Operation rice bowl
Makes available a Lenten, home-based opportunity to include the hungry of the world inout prayer, daily meals, and almsgiving.

Respect life subcommittee
Committed to the protection of all life, this group seeks to represent the respect life concerns of care for the marginalized, elderly, and the unborn. Meets monthly on third Wednesday.

Kid's cafe
An effort in Louisville's West End to provide an evening meal to needy children. Volunteers needed to serve meals once a month.

Justfaith
A nine month formation program (September - May) that focuses on the Church's peace and justice tradition and its relationship to personal conversion. Meets weekly with several retreats and workshops.
Louisville Central Community Centers, Inc.
A 50 year old agency in the Russell neighborhood offers a great variety of opportunities for engagement with its clients, whom it refers to as "neighbors". Volunteers are needed for Kids Art Academy, Mini-Versity Child Development Centers, Progressive Education Program, Special Events, Advisory Councils, and more.

Society of St. Vincent DePaul
A social service organization that has been providing food, shelter, and hope since 1953 in the Louisville area. Service opportunities include serving meals, collecting toys, gifts and personal items, giving parties for residents, sprucing up the campus, adopt-a-family or shelter, helping with phones and mail, and more. |
